She knew as they headed back to the house that things would be harder tonight than they had over the last two days. There were people relying on her to help them, and help them she would. First though she had to get people organised. She knew though that everyone was waiting for her call at the moment, and she knew that it would come very shortly.
Losing her parents would not be easy, it was never so for anyone, but she knew that she had to deal with that lose sooner or later. Having it happening so soon though made her sad in a way, she'd barely gotten back to them and here they all were, headed towards a battle that was going to cost Laura and Zelphar their lives, as well as Nuala and Galan. That was most of her family.
'You will be careful, won't you?' Gaelira asked. Gem knew that the white dragoness was very put out with the idea of remaining behind like this, to her it was not right. She did not like the idea of Gem going out into what could be a messy battle and not coming back, without Gaelira being able to do a thing.
'The Hawkblades stay with me the whole time we're out there. I'll be fine, as will Auraka and Drannor, if their dragons start to worry. Plus hopefully only my parents and Ashlere's will have to fight. most of us are just going there to help the people there to get out before the town is completely destroyed. I owe them that much.'
Gaelira grumbled but said no more. She knew that Gem wanted to talk to Auraka for a moment, alone, before they left to join the rest of the warriors who were getting ready to go. It was not something that was easy for Gaelira to allow though. It was known that the dragons did not like the things that were becoming more numerous in their home. The vampires were not easily accepted by the dragons, no matter who they were.

Not far from the house, Rasjar and Auraka were also having a similar chat. "I don't like this Auraka," Rasjar grumbled, large head resting on the ground by his side, deep eyes looking up at him. "To many things can go wrong." Auraka chuckled, rubbing his snout gently before heaving himself to his feet. "You can stay and keep Gaerlira company, I've got my people and my queen to look after," he said with a small smile "I'll be fine, with Gem and Drannor on my side...no one can hurt me."
With those parting words, he hurried back into the house and into their room guessing that Gem was in there. Unable to see her, blue eyes peered around. "Gem?" he called quietly before finally seeing her "are you ready dear? We need to get going."

No one could hurt you even without us, Drannor said mentally as he ran up the stairs of his own house. There were many things to be seen to, and he had to get his armour. Yes, the leader of the Hawkblades was very happy, now with his warriors getting ready to ride out. Not to mention there were other places he needed to be at the moment. This is making me worried, Neldor said. We'll be fine. There is nothing that can hurt me out there, except dragon fire, and I'm not likely about to let that hit me, he replied. You had better not. Make sure she gets home safely, won't you? asked the big dragon as he flew up towards the top of the tree from the ground. Is that not my duty? Sometimes you need reminding. Drannor sighed as he reached the room of his home that had his silver and black dragon scale armour within it. Methodically, he started buckling the pieces on.
I don't like this idea, Gaelira said, looking at her. Well, its my desision to help them. I owe them and you can;t deny that. They could have easily handed me over to Lindan Marcos, and they didn't now. Now he knows and he wants to punish them. Gem sighed. One act of kindness deserves one in return. You won't be safe out there, Gaelira replied. I have all the usual protection, if not more. This time all the Hawkblade's ride out with me, as do many others. We won't be the ones fighting. My parents, and yours will be. Something I'm not pleased about, either. Why? They let you get captured before. Only because I was out there alone, and took none of them with me by choice, replied Gem. Gaelira roared in anger at her, through their mind. You what!
Gem sighed knowing that she would have to keep Gaelira out of her head for a while. The white dragon was furious with her, now that she knew how Gem happened to be caught last time. She smiled though when she saw Auraka. “I'm nearly ready, though Gaelira just gave me an earful,” she replied. Her eyes met his for a moment, before looking away. She knew he was thirsty, he couldn't hide that from her. “You're hungry.”

With a sigh, she hurried down the stairs and heard Drannor return but she was to busy trying to find all the herbs she knew she would need. "Where is it..." she muttered searching though the cupboards. Under the fresh herbs, came the humming reply, Cyara's eye appearing in the window. I'm glad your not going... she said softly, Sahar sighed and approached the window. "I know..but what about the others?" she whispered opening the window and rubbing the dark snout. "They'll be fine Sahar, they always are." Another sigh escaped her, leaving her dragon and basket of herbs behind before searching for Drannor. She found him buckling his armor on and smiled slightly. "Here," she said quietly, tightening a loose strap at the back before hugging him tightly from behind. "Stay safe," she whispered, head resting against his muscled spine.
Rasjar felt his mate's anger and pain and hurried to his feet, moving towards the white dragon was glaring at Gem. Gaerlira? he asked quietly, snout rubbing her shoulder gently in an attempt to calm her down. There is nothing we can do...they'll go anyways, he said sadly.
Auraka eyed her, noticing how worried and tense she seemed. Approaching quietly, he sat beside her and rubbed her shoulder blades gently. "Why would Gaelira do that?" he asked raising an eyebrow and pulled away slightly with a sigh. "No I'm not..I hunted yesterday," he told her standing and putting his own armor in place.

“We’ll be fine, don’t worry about us. There is nothing for you to worry about, though I know Gaelira’s furious with Gem at the moment. Only the most elite warriors are going, meaning my Hawkblades,” he said, turning around carefully in her arms. “We’ll stay safe, all of us, and you know there is very little that hurts me anymore, same for Auraka actually.” He chuckled lightly. “We’ll be back before you know it, really, we’ll be fine.” He reached over past her, finding his sword and buckling it one easily. “I’ll be thinking of you the whole time, though it’ll only be what a day maybe before we’re home again?”
“I just found out how the hell she managed to get caught before,” Gaelira fumed. “Something completely ridiculous what she did to end up like that in Ciarbera.” She growled. It was not a pleasent sound. Looking at Gem once more she growled, “If you ever do something foolish like that again, when I find I will lick you from head to toe!”
Gem winced at the words. Not something she ever wanted Gaelira doing to her. She knew that the dragon’s tongue was not smooth at all. More like sandpaper. "Not a good idea," she muttered to herself. She knew there was something on her mind, but finding the words around him was not easy.

Sahar lent into his chest, loving the musk scent he gave. It made her feel safe, as if she never wanted to leave his arms. "Every time you go," she whispered "it seems longer until you return...no matter if it is moments or days." She kissed his cheek gently, stepping back as her skirts swished around her ankles, hefting the herb basket on her hip. "I better get ready," she said quietly, green orbs searching his face for a moment before disappearing down the street.
Rasjar could not help but chuckle, knowing it would earn him a glare from his mate. He nudged her side softly. "Come on Gaerlira...trust Auraka and Drannor, together they are almost as good as a dragon."
Aruaka, as his dragon before him, chuckled lightly at Gaerlia's threat knowing all to well she wouldn't do it to Gem. She loved her to much to harm her. His blue eyes, ringed with black, searched her face in question. He knew there was something she wanted to say, something she already knew he wouldn't like. That much was clear from her actions. "Out with it," he said, raising an eyebrow and looking down at her.

"I know," he replied, kissing the top of her head and watching her head off. It was the same for him when these things parted them. Time seemed so slow when he was away with the other warriors. But this was something that was owed to the people of Adurna. Not to mention his duty was that of always serving the king and queen, so there was no choice for him.
"They better bring her back," she growled. It was clear she was not too pleased at all with her rider at the moment. And it was obvious as well that she was going to be having a talk with her about the things that happened in Ciarbera. It was something not many knew the whole story of, only Gem did really.
She sighed, looking at him for a second. She knew that it was not a good idea to push him, but he was the one who wanted to know now. At least Gaelira agreed on what she was going to tell him. "I know you know I don't like you hunting the other animals in forest. I know you don't like the idea of feeding from me, though I want you to. Gaelira and I both talked about that. We came up with an solution that both of us thought would work." She paused. "I won't say anything else about you hunting the other animals, if... when there is a battle to be had against Lindan Marcos in some way, that instead of the animals, you would feed from me." She blushed. Gaelira's eyes were now on Auraka as well. He wouldn't dare refuse her.

Rasjar sighed but nodded. "They will Gaelira, they'll have both of us on their backs," he said gently "come, we can watch them go from the gates..."
Auraka ignored the huge dragon's eyes, both Gaelira and Rasjar were watching for his reaction. He stood stiffly, unable to believe she was asking this. "Gem..." he said hands in his hair and tugged at it tightly as if stressed "Gem no..it would weaken you! I wont do it..not against someone like him..." His head keep shaking, looking everywhere around the room but the two dragons and Gem. "No..." he whispered, falling onto the bed and buried his head in his hands "no way..."

"No, it won't weaken her. If she was not a rider it would, but the amount of energy she keeps storing in the sword of hers can deal with that. Not to mention she has my strength as well," Gaelira said softly. "We knew you'd react like this Auraka. Gem even talked to Drannor about this."
"He told me that those who only hunt animals are never as strong as those who hunt humans, Auraka. Even someone younger than you would be stronger, jsut because of a different diet. You'd be more vulnerable than me."
Gaelira looked at Rasjar, speaking to him only now. tell him its the right thing to do. Please.

Rasjar looked to Gaelira before nodding slightly with a soft sigh. I think you should Auraka... he said gently, lowering his head to the elf It would make us all worry less about you... Auraka glared at Rasjar for a moment and shook his head once more, stubborn as always. "I can't..." he whispered, so softly that it would be surprising if anyone heard it. You can Auraka, Gaelira and I are here if you need us... Auraka looked over at the purple dragon, seeing the worry and bond in his eyes and shook his head once more, but this time in defeat. "Gem," he said gently, still staying where he was but trained his orbs upon her form "I really don't want to do this." He seemed to plea with her, something a man like his would rarely do. He seemed to be in pain at the mere idea. It was clear how much he loved her, how much he couldn't loose her.

She sighed, looking at him. This time, she was not going to back down. Maybe in the past she would have, but not when it came to this particular issue. This was one that she was more than determined to win at the moment. No matter what. "I know you don't want to hurt me, Auraka, but it doesn't hurt at all. It didn't hurt last time, and that was the first day you were a vampire. Back then you would have had none of the control you have now," she said gently. Slowly she moved over towards him, she knew that she'd managed to convince him somehow. Gently she wrapped her arms around him, the smooth armour there bending easily with her muscles.

Auraka heard her quiet sigh, eyes flickering towards where she sat. Clearly, she wasn’t going to back down this time, it was a rare event when she did. They were just as stubborn as each other, Rasjar nodded in agreement with his thoughts with a chuckle.
To true...he hummed to Auraka earning a glare from his rider.
As her arms wrapped around him, his went around her just holding her and refusing to talk for a moment, to battled within his mind to speak.
“I can’t lose you Gem, I just can’t...” he whispered, head buried into the side of her neck, nose running along the edge of her shoulder blade and up to the nape of her neck, pressing a gentle kiss there.
“But...” he swallowed loudly and met her eyes “I will if you insist...only before battle.”
A soft sigh escaped him, dark ringed eyes filled with sadness “unless I hurt you, then deals off and you never mention it again. Okay?”

She smiled at him, knowing that for now, she was the one who had won this little argument, though she hell didn't see it as one. They were both very stubborn, though he would not realise it, she was as stubborn as he could be at times. Though those times were rare, this had certainly been one of those moments. "You know I would tell you if you hurt me. That's the way I always have been. No matter what you've done around me, I've never been scared of you. It's not something I think will happen for a long time.” Her head resting on his shoulder, she smiled up at him, eyes smiling as well in their own way. This was something no one else would ever do for him. Only those who seemed to share this sort of a bond seemed able to do this for each other. “I care about you more than anything else in the world. There is no way I'm going to lose you, if there is something I can do to prevent it from happening. At least you don't have to worry about dying of old age like me.”

Auraka kissed the nape of her neck gently, still holding her gently in his cool embrace and sighed quietly, knowing she wouldn't hear it. He, truthfully, hadn't even thought about that. But he knew it would happen one day, she would grow old while he stayed the same. One day he would loose her, unless he changed her. He kissed her gently again, feeling the fangs in his mouth show slightly as he licked his lips. "Lets get this over with then," he muttered, another soft kiss quickly followed by sinking his sharp teeth in.

She smiled at him for a few moments knowing that there were some things in the world that were not easy to get. How she had ended up with him she did not know, but she was certainly glad she had. He was the one thing she would never want to give up. There was nothing anyone could offer that would ever make her want to give him up.
Her arms tightened a little around him when he bit into her neck, though it was only so he did not have to do all the work, she'd be able to stay still enough without him having to help her there. There was no pain at all, she knew she could trust him to know when to stop. This was something she knew she could get used to. would get used to over time. She knew that he would not have to do this often, there were not many more fights left in Nuban now.
Eventually though, she knew that they would all leave Nuban, and it was something she did not look fowards to. There was though the lure of finding the world that they had originally come from. Perhaps that was what they would all do, when they did leave.
